Full-Time Billing Representative

(Claims Department)

Locust / Maple Street Office

Position Summary:  Entry level medical billing work. Training available for the right candidate.

Applicant must be dependable and detail-oriented. Ability to work in a face-paced enviornment. Applicant must have good written and verbal communications skills.  Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.  Ability to work independently, but seek guidance when necessary and appropriate.

Experience Required Positions:

Full-Time Legal Assistant (Applications Department)

Locust Street Office

Position Summary:  Assisting uninsured and underinsured patients with application, verification and related follow-up for Medical Assistance Government Programs on behalf of healthcare providers.  Processing all necessary and applicable paperwork and follow-up for appropriate health insurance programs according to state and federal regulations.

Applicant must possess and demonstrate knowledge of federal and state Medical Assistance eligibility regulations.  Applicant must have excellent written and verbal communications skills in order to communicate effectively with a variety of patients and hospital staff.  Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.  Thorough knowledge of  Long-Term Care MassHealth benefits.   Withstand pressures that arise with complex issues.  Ability to work independently, but seek guidance when necessary and appropriate.  Extensive patient, client and related telephone contact.

We hire and train individuals with limited experience for entry level positions within the firm. We have a strong history of promoting from within the firm. Our pay is competitive and commensurate with experience and expertise. Some factors we value include:

  • Prior experience in processing MassHealth applications in a hospital, CHC or government setting
  • The ability and desire to work directly with applicants, clients and multiple government agencies and payers
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Social Security Disability and/or MassHealth DES claims process
  • College degree preferred, but not determinative
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals of various educational and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Strong time management and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Skills in other languages helpful
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office products
